The Multiscale Modeling Lab

Our lab team develops and applies Monte Carlo simulation tools to model the transport of ionizing radiation through matter. Simulations are applied in all areas of radiation therapy research and radiology. Work is ongoing to extend the TOPAS tool that wraps and extends the general-purpose Monte Carlo tool Geant4, developed for high-energy physics applications worldwide.

Other research areas in our group include studies of radiation damage to electronics, particle physics, nuclear physics, radiation chemistry, and radiation biology.
